ABOUT THE LAB
The Emerging Technology Integrated Design & Manufacturing Lab (ETiDM) at IIIT-Delhi focuses on interdisciplinary research in Extended Reality (XR), Human-Centered Design, Machine Learning, Haptics, and immersive engineering systems.
The ongoing research projects @ETiDM employ emerging technologies to develop smart training, tutorial and evaluation systems in the context of Industry 4.0 and Education 4.0.
The lab combines engineering, design, AI, and immersive visualization to create impactful real-world systems and future-facing interactive experiences.
LAB DIRECTOR
Dr. Kalpana Shankhwar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Centered Design at IIIT-Delhi and leads the ETiDM Lab.
Her research interests include Extended Reality (XR), Human-Computer Interaction, Haptics, Machine Learning, Industrial Simulation, Interactive Systems, and immersive engineering visualization.
She has contributed extensively to immersive learning systems, welding simulation, haptic interfaces, mixed reality training, finite element visualization, and intelligent interaction systems.
Dr. Kalpana collaborates internationally with researchers and institutions working in XR, manufacturing systems, immersive simulation, and future interactive technologies.
