Dr. Kalpana Shankhwar Assistant Professor, IIIT-Delhi

I am an Assistant Professor at IIIT-Delhi in the department of Human Centered Design. I did my B.E. from Shri G. S. Institute of Technology and Science in Mechanical Engineering, M.Tech from IIT Guwahati in Mechanical Engineering with Machine Design specialization and my PhD from National Taiwan University also in Mechanical Engineering with Mechanical Design specialization. I have published my PhD research work in three reputed international SCI journals as a first author. In addition, I have coauthored four international SCI journal articles with international collaborators. My current research interests are extended reality (XR)/(AR, VR, MR), haptic technology, artificial intelligence, digital twin and finite element method (FEM). I worked as an Engineer in an automobile industry, MAN Trucks India Pvt. Ltd. for a year (2012 – 2013). Prior to earning my PhD, I worked as an Assistant Professor at KIIT University in department of Mechanical engineering for almost two years (2015 – 2017). My other interests include travelling, listening to music, singing, cooking and playing pool.
